Building Resiliency: Essential Threads for Mastering Change
Happiness is a desire we all deserve, yet it seems elusive. One moment you think you have it all figured out and the next moment nothing makes sense. What is the obstacle to reaching a state of sustained happiness? According to the yoga tradition, it's the mind. Its ever-changing "weather" patterns make you vulnerable and unstable. This change is constant and unrelenting. If the changing patterns of the mind are the obstacle, then building resiliency to these changing patterns is the solution.
This workshop will start with a discussion that will build a foundation on yoga's approach to a resilient mind. The guide will be an ancient text called the Yoga Sutras. You will learn specific wisdom and techniques that will enable you to experience more stability and ease in your yoga practice. You will also be given ways to apply resiliency to life off the mat. The workshop will include a full yoga practice, take away materials and an audio recording that will assist you with your exploration after the workshop. The ultimate intention is to empower you to begin to influence change in your life in a positive direction.
Resiliency Workshop Praise

“The workshop gave me some accessible concepts that I will use in weeks to come. Most importantly, the workshop raised my awareness of my breathing and how it can influence my energy level. I felt more energetic throughout the remainder of the day, and I also found myself being a witness more during the day.”
- Kyle-Beth Hilfer
“Up until now I was primarily concerned about the physical benefits of practice but also wondered why I often felt emotional after the end of a practice. Obviously I was looking for something more than exercise. Thanks for the workshop, Joe. If feel as if I got lucky today and was able to hear exactly what I needed to hear to make a new start.”
-Diana Frost
“Excellent introduction to the theory, background and potential benefits of yoga.”
- Don Fait
The workshop covered things I studied in yoga teacher training, and have tried to apply to my life ever since. However, it's easy to get sidetracked. This was a reminder - a wake-up call - an inspiration. Thank you, Joe!
- Meg Cameron
